About the Philips Heartstart XL Biphasic Defibrillator
The HeartStart XL switches between full manual control and automated AED operation without changing pads or position. Your team gets the flexibility to operate in manual mode during procedures, then flip to AED mode for quick response situations where less-experienced staff might be first on scene.
The SMART Biphasic waveform automatically adjusts energy delivery based on patient impedance, while continuous ECG monitoring works through the same pads for defibrillation. Built-in strip chart printing captures events in real-time, and internal memory stores data for review later. The short version: one device handles both planned cardioversion and emergency response.
At under 14 pounds, it’s light enough for rapid transport between units. The electroluminescent display stays readable in varying light conditions, and selectable energy from 2 to 200 Joules covers pediatric through adult patients with optional pad configurations.
