About the Leica M500 Microscope
The Leica M500’s patented six-axis balancing system lets you position the microscope head precisely without fighting counterweights or drift. Unlike traditional overhead mounts that require constant readjustment, this one stays put where you place it.
The dual xenon illumination includes a complete backup system with its own electrical components, not just a spare bulb. Worth noting: the 300W total output maintains consistent color temperature throughout long procedures, and the backup kicks in automatically if the primary system fails.
The short version on mobility: the overhead design keeps total weight low enough for single-person repositioning between cases. Floor stand locks securely but moves easily when unlocked, and the articulating mount adjusts smoothly without tools.
