DRE Medical has supplied hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics around the world since 1984. We’re FDA-registered and ISO 13485:2016 certified, with a catalog spanning anesthesia machines, surgical tables, patient monitors, and more, available new or professionally refurbished. The Bahamian healthcare market is growing, private hospitals are expanding, National Health Insurance now covers over 161,000 residents, and a $267 million specialty hospital is underway in New Providence, and we’re looking to partner with an authorized distributor to help meet the growing demand.

Why Partner with DRE Medical
A catalog that covers the full hospital. From anesthesia and surgical equipment to patient monitoring and sterilization, you can offer your customers a single source instead of piecing together sources through relationships with multiple manufacturers.
New and certified refurbished options. Give your customers flexibility across budgets without compromising on quality, and backed by our ISO 13485:2016 quality management system, whether they choose new or used equipment.
Experience navigating Bahamas import and customs documentation. We understand how medical equipment moves through the Bahamas Customs Department and Ministry of Finance, and we prepare our documentation with that process in mind.
40+ years of international experience. We’ve been exporting medical equipment since 1984 and know what it takes to get equipment where it needs to go, correctly documented and on schedule.
FDA registration and ISO 13485:2016 certification. Your customers can trust the credentials behind every product you sell.
Competitive distributor pricing. Structured to give you real margin while keeping your customers’ equipment costs reasonable.
Ongoing support. From product training to documentation assistance, we’re a partner, not just a supplier.
Why a Local Distributor Partnership Makes Sense for the Bahamas
For DRE Medical, working through a Bahamian distributor isn’t just a convenience. It reflects how business is actually structured in the Bahamas. Under the Bahamas’ National Investment Policy, wholesale and retail operations and agencies engaged in the import/export trade are reserved specifically for Bahamian nationals. A foreign manufacturer can sell wholesale the products it produces itself, but building a distribution and import-export business in-country is a role meant for a Bahamian partner.
There’s also the practical reality of doing business across an archipelago. A Bahamian distributor will ideally have an established relationship with the Bahamas Customs Department’s Revenue Unit already. Such a person should have a clear understanding of the documentation required for the duty-exemption application process, and can represent equipment on the ground in Nassau, Freeport, or the Family Islands in a way a supplier based in the US simply can’t.
What We Look for in a Distributor
- Established presence in Nassau, Freeport, or another Bahamian market, with the ability to serve hospitals and clinics across the archipelago
- Existing relationships with hospitals, clinics, or healthcare procurement decision-makers in the Bahamas
- Familiarity with the Bahamas Customs Department and Ministry of Finance import and duty-exemption process
- A registered Bahamian business in good standing, able to operate as a wholesale distributor under the National Investment Policy
- A team capable of supporting customers after the sale, not just closing the initial order
We don’t require exclusivity to begin a partnership. We’re looking for the right fit, and we’re happy to discuss what that looks like for your business.
